RGE was created with the goal of making development easier for those who want to focus more on the artistic side of their project and less on the logical/programming side.

It already provides many ready-made mechanics, including physics, gravity systems, height systems, and several tools connected to the creation workflow that RPG Maker already offers — but with the possibility of going beyond it.

With RGE, you can add pre-rendered 3D graphics, giving you the chance to use techniques inspired by some of the most famous RPGs from the PlayStation One / PS1 era, as well as games like Resident Evil.

Visual Effects and Lighting

RGE already allows you to add effects such as cel shading to compose your characters or environments.

The lighting can come directly from the lights you configure while using 3D assets to create your scenes, helping you achieve a more polished and atmospheric visual result.

3D Models and Animations

With RGE, you can access countless animations and 3D models available online. You only need to configure the beginning and end of each animation, then define how they interact with each other.

You can also run 3D models directly in the engine. The animations are configured in the same environment as the 2D animations, which means that, in one workflow, you can handle both 2D and 3D animations.

You can even switch between them in specific situations, depending on what your project needs.

Current Development Status

For now, the engine is still in development, but we already have a demo available.

This demo was made entirely in less than one week, while I was also fixing bugs and improving several features of the engine at the same time.

All assets in the demo were created by me. I am also a 3D artist, 3D animator, and game designer with over 20 years of experience.

The Vision Behind RGE

Everything I have learned over the years is being included in this engine.

With RGE, you will be able to create whatever your effort and creativity allow you to build. The main idea is to help you take your idea out of your mind and put it into a playable form more easily, so you can focus more on the artistic side of your project.
